Climate
Iraq has a diverse climate, ranging from arid desert to subtropical.
In the southern and central regions, the climate is mostly arid or semi-arid with hot summers and cool winters. Average temperatures in the summer months can reach up to 40°C (104°F), while in the winter they can drop to below 0°C (32°F).
The northern regions have a more temperate climate with hot summers and cool, rainy winters. The mountainous areas in the north have a cooler climate, with snowfall in the winter months.
Rainfall is sporadic throughout the country, with the majority of it falling in the winter months. However, some areas, particularly in the south and center, receive very little rainfall.
